VENN’S UPDATED GARAGE PROGRAM READY TO ROLL

Venn Innovation’s startup program - the Garage Program - has a new manager, a new process, a newly renovated space and new applicants ready and eager to start innovating and starting their entrepreneurial journey.
Under the experienced guidance of Aïssa Azzouzi, Venn’s new Manager, Startup Incubation Services, a new group of tech-based entrepreneurs is getting ready to start and the existing Garage participants are continuing their work in the Junction, home of Venn Innovation.
All this work doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more innovations, more entrepreneurial ideas, more businesses starting and growing in our tech ecosystem - new applicants are always welcome! If you have a tech-based business idea, reach out to us at info@venninnovation.com.

November 15 - 21

November 15 – 21 is Entrepreneur Week in Canada and it’s more important than ever to encourage and support our innovators and entrepreneurs!
In a recent report, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) examined numbers from Statistics Canada and found that the country has 100,000 fewer entrepreneurs than it did 20 years ago — despite the fact that the population has grown by more than 10 million over the same period.
What can be done? The BDC recommends a focus on developing soft skills to help entrepreneurs through every stage of business. Based on a survey of 1,250 entrepreneurs, it says marketing and finance skills are key to help a business get started, while administration and operations skills are needed to keep it going, and leadership and people skills are essential to create growth.
The BDC report also stresses that key skills are not innate personality characteristics, but traits and behaviours that can be learned through coaching and mentorship, reading, formal classes and engagement with peers.
Here at Venn Innovation, we know that entrepreneurs - especially tech-based entrepreneurs - take risks, bring new ideas to life, and make significant contributions to our country. This is why we work with tech startups to help them begin their journey, thrive and grow. Venn Innovation is home home of the technology and innovation ecosystem in our province and our community of startups, mentors and tech entrepreneurs work together to expand that network across New Brunswick and beyond.
During Global Entrepreneurship Week, we celebrate the dedication and innovative spirit that drives entrepreneurs - and the economic growth and jobs they create - and continue that celebration and all year. Join us at our grand opening and/or any of the special events we have planned - have an amazing Entrepreneurship Week everyone!
